Every month, on rotation, a local community charity fundraises at the market, enabling groups to raise needed funds, the charity utilises the kitchen and also has volunteers on the gates who hand out newsletters and buskers tokens and taking the opportunity to ‘shake the bucket’ for random donations of spare coins or even notes. This modern kitchen facility was built by the community and provides a vital means to assist these valuable organisations in their local endeavours.
Scattered around the market are other community groups who provide information and resources about various organisations and bodies such as Sea Shepherds, local P&C and LGA agencies.
