Food Stalls

Application in writing to the Management must be presented at monthly meetings prior to the trade of food at the markets; this includes Category 1 and 2. It is under the Managers discretion which Cat 3 Food Stalls and Fruit and Vegetables trade at the market.

Market stallholders are bound by the requirements of the Food Act and Regulations 1998. These requirements place direct responsibility on persons who sell food. Failure to comply may render the seller liable to large fines. Vendors of food stalls, which cause injury or illness, may be sued for damages. TCCM can provide hot food stallholders with product and public liability when attending this market.

All stalls selling food are required to be licensed by Lismore City Council Market Food Stall Code. Food stalls cannot increase the range of food they sell without first making a request in writing to the committee. This includes all drinks and ice blocks. Cans and glass bottles are not permitted within the market.
