The Tuntable Creek Hall has been serving the community and surrounds for over 70 years. The hall has recently upgraded its driveway for all weather access and replaced the tank and guttering and good rainfall has replenished the water supply. New boundary fencing and painting the exterior of the building is planned for the forthcoming year. Small community groups can access the hall for meetings free of charge with bookings arranged on 0448783069

Both volunteer organisations continue to operate through the ability to be able to have events like Charity of the day at the Channon Markets so your donation today is greatly appreciated.

See us at the gate or pop in for a BBQ and refreshments at the ‘Shed’.

Tuntable Creek Landcare Group is also involved with regeneration work, the establishment of Koala corridors and weed control with a particular focus on The Giant Devil’s Fig. Recently the group supported a grant applied for by an adjoining landowner for a Riparian Rainforest Regeneration Project in the stallholders carpark at Coronation Park, from the Department of Primary Industries to improve fish habitat. Three workdays in the last few months saw almost 800 trees planted with the added support from locals.

Both groups work together to support the community of Tuntable Creek and beyond.

Weddings, Parties, Tennis!

For over 100 years The Channon Public Hall has served as a focal point for the village social activities. Over the years, significant improvements have been made to the Hall with the assistance of Regional Partnerships programmes and Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Programme. Also thanks to you, the local community, for your kind contributions in donations and time spent assisting in these improvements. Last year we were honoured to take part in the Arts Northern Rivers’ If These Halls Could Talk project, a multi-arts project celebrating halls and the role they play in our communities.

Celebrated Australian visual artist Craig Walsh worked within the community to create a work inspired by the stories and people of The Channon Hall and its surrounds. The material gathered at the fabulous Show & Tell event at The Channon Hall last March helped him to shape his work “The Grain” which he presented at a hugely successful gathering in September 2016.

If these Halls could talk project is funded by Arts NSW Regional Partnership funding and Regional Arts NSW Regional Arts Fund. Ultimately we will receive archival material as a result of the project and we will hold further events at The Channon Hall to continue to celebrate our historic hall.

All monies collected at The Shed and at the Gates at The Channon Sunday Craft Market this Sunday will help in the constant maintenance requirements at The Channon Public Hall and will also help the survival of The Channon Tennis Club. Come and visit us at the Shed for fabulous cakes, hot BBQ with vegetarian and gluten free products available.

Meet desert highway hipslingers Johnny American Horse. These seasoned troubadours know their way around a hook and a good time and are ready to take you on a ride with a goodie-bag of shambolic Americana, folk ‘n’ roll, suburban hymns and motel blues. Their previous bands Radio Dolls, Dirty York and Brother Buffalo enjoyed popularity both locally and internationally, and now their new catalogue of material is attracting critical interest and ever-growing crowds to their own low-key shows closer to home. No surprises there, after all, this dynamic duo are captivating performers and delightfully insightful songwriters with charm and musicality to burn. Johnny American Horse will release their debut record later this year.

At Tuntable Creek Public School we provide our students with exceptional learning opportunities in a beautiful, natural environment in the lush rainforests of the NSW North Coast. Our students learn to live and work cooperatively and we base daily school life around the 3 R's - Respect, Responsibilities & Rights. We have high expectations of our students and provide them with quality teaching experiences with a focus on literacy, numeracy, creative arts and technology.

Our parents & citizens' association (P&C) brings the school community together. Parents, teachers and community members can help meet the needs of the school community and contribute to decisions about the school.

The P&C also raises funds that help finance improvements to our school and provide additional resources.
